A rare offering of vintage (circa 1950-60) ruby pears, very wobbly, asymmetric but fully glowing beauties…
Sizes range ¼ to ¾ carat.
Origin: most probably Siamese old mines.
Tested one of our vintage ruby pears to confirm geographic findings…
Came back surprisingly as Siamese, with no indication of heating.
The more I learn, the more I understand that Thai rubies are pretty much a thing of the past.., I understand limited Thai rubies are being mined and if so, the majority are low grade heated to enhance color and clarity.
This 0.73 carat is all natural and probably originating from the older mines in the earlier part of the 20th century..
