We are happy to offer our specially designed and cut French Cut Diamond Calibré sets in a range of *ready-made sizes for your convenience. Such sets can be incorporated into any jewel designs which require unique gem-pair designs and accents.
French Cut Diamonds were popular during the early part of the 20th century and adorn jewelry designs created in the Art Deco era. During these early years French Cut Diamonds were found mostly in standard square or off-square shapes due to their early cutting limitations.
Today, using specialized tools, allow us to design & cut French Cut Diamonds to almost any geometric shapes allowing a more free usage of such cuts in either vintage or contemporary designs.
Even though present creativity potential utilizing such specialized cuts are basically unlimited, we chose to begin with the rather simple — multi-diamond tapered designs —- which we are offering here.
Each French Cut Diamond in these sets possesses proportionally unique and significant crown heights which allow a visual of what we call “the 3D sculptured effect”, a feature which not only allows an internal play-of-light from within the Diamond but also external facet reflections caused by its three dimensional proportions and unique faceting arrangement, the Diamonds seem to pop-out of their settings.
Like the original French Cuts of the era, these also possess an open (albeit polished) culet displaying the “Kozibe” effect and the unique pavilion corner facets which are paramount in achieving the look and charm these cuts are meant to display.
