Offering a beautiful antique pair of elongated ruby step cuts from our old collection of gems. Some might call them baguettes but I don’t consider them as such.
They do have a beautiful red color with slight variations between the two, clarity wise one is a bit more free of inclusions but in general they play a nice natural role as a pair…, in the old days they would have been considered a perfect pair.
Both were crafted to very flat proportions (hence why I don’t call them baguettes) so they definitely show significantly larger than their current weight. And their off-symmetry really adds to their old charmed allure and testament for their genuine antique status.
We are offering this pair separately or with a wider step cut center ruby. All three rubies are old and possess quite some old patina age-marks.
Generally, I am against recutting and so I have decided to offer them as-is. I personally believe their authentic patina adds to their beauty, character and allure.
