This beautiful midnight blue sapphire was another selected from the same lot as our natural unheated 3.38 carat Australian sapphire we published previously.
It also possesses a gorgeous midnight blue color which was designed and cut to flatter proportions with the original intention of lighting up the depth of color (circa 1950-60’s). As a result, the proportions are just sublime and this gem appears larger than its weight suggests.
Still considered a vintage gem, this sapphire was never set in a jewel and is in excellent condition showing very subtle facet junction aberrations on its pavilion side only…, character marks which authenticates its vintage status.
