Complicated Simplicity

As the saying goes..
“It’s as simple as that. Simple and complicated, as most true things are.”

I find this so true when it comes to creating minimalistic jewels.

Attempting to use minimal elements to securely join and display a great visual gem story is no picnic!!

This picture shows my imaginary vision put swiftly on paper a while ago…, obviously once I started figuring out metal forms and its limitations it required three dimensional thinking and planning to move forward. The complicated part!

Its quite easy to draw a two dimensional design but physically realizing it in three dimensional form in an entirely different story.
Actually the only way to elevate such designs is to give-in to their forms and allow them to lead you to the gem cuts and shapes they (the form) exclusively prefer.

I only add my faceting & optical ingredients for a beautiful visual and completion.

To be continued of course…
