A One of a Kind Antique Ruby & Old Mine Diamonds Band

A uniquely designed 18 karat white gold antique diamonds & ruby band.

This band ring is designed to display its 18 colorless antique Old Mine Cut diamonds, 1 Yellow GemConcepts Old Mine Cut diamond and 1 antique ruby oval weighing a total weight of 3.60 carat.
The materials for the 18 antique Old Mine Cuts range in quality from D to G color and VS-SI clarities. The yellow OMC is of an intense yellow natural color.

Designers note:

I spent a lot of time searching for the most beautiful antique diamonds, no matter their size. Part of my selection lays on my knowledge to differentiate between their different qualities. I am not willing to compromise on either their water (material quality) nor their lack of color (for this ring).

I look for *asymmetrical faceting esthetics, interesting unique forms (each antique diamond offers its unique shape) and proportions and beautiful play-of-lights.

Then I select & match to fit my jewelry design visions.

In this antique Old Mine Cut band, I chose to share their gemological faceting and play-of-light findings by 3D scanning each diamond and share its faceting style and arrangements, their real life HDR play of lights and thirdly an *ASET view of each one of the 20 stones set.

*Translation of ASET colors:

• Red – direct light from above
• Green – indirect light (e.g. light bouncing off walls, objects in the environmental space)
• Blue – contrast or obstruction of light
• White – leakage (light passes through diamond without being reflected back)

* Genuine antique diamonds were not crafted to modern day symmetry norms because of the lack of standard requirements in the related periods. Asymmetry in faceting is quite normal for antique craftsmanship. Some were beautiful while some are less so.., my priority when I purchase antique diamonds is to select the most beautiful examples I can find.
